The 2005 Dodge Dakota is competing in a market where large pickups maintain the status quo and compact versions continue to grow.

The midsize Dakota pickup comes in a choice of three engines and has gained nearly 4 inches in length and almost 3 inches in width. The new design provides a balance between safety and maneuverability. Dakota extends its bumpers in the front and rear for protection in case of low-speed impacts.

K&N Engineering has developed a 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-1546) that will add 9 + horsepower with this rotationally molded polyethylene air intake. K&N's dynamometer chart shows a 9.17 horsepower gain at 4524 RPM for the 2005 to 2010 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8.

"There is a big opening where the factory air box was," said K&N Performance Kit Manger Bert Heck. "We can run the biggest filter possible on this Intake."

The FIPK (57-1546) uses K&N's high-flow, washable and reusable air filter (RF-1048) which performs up to 100,000 miles before service is required (depending on driving conditions). FIPK air intakes also come with the famous Million Mile Limited Warranty.
