A K&N Replacement Filter That Fits Both the 1.0L Opel and the 3.6L Cadillac ATS-V

We can’t quite recall when we’ve seen an OEM filter fitted to such as wide range of cars. The filter was fitted to everything from a three-cylinder 1.0L Vauxhall to the 464 horsepower Cadillac ATS-V. The filter first came into use in 2015 in the Opel and Vauxhall Astra (Opel in the European mainland, Vauxhall in Great Britain). It was fitted to 1.0L three cylinder and 1.4L and 1.6L four cylinder gasoline engines, and 1.6L diesel engines.

In 2016, Cadillac decided to utilize a pair of these filters for the ATS-V, powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine that produced 464 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. That’s over four times what the turbocharged 1.0L three cylinder Astra engine produced. The filter was also added to the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, and unlike the Cadillac ATS-V, it wasn’t just for one model year. The filter continues to be used on the Cruze at least through the 2017 model year.

After conquering Europe and the United States, the filter traveled “down under” in 2016 under the hood of the Holden Astra with 1.4L and 1.6L four cylinder engines. That fitment has continued through the 2017 model year.

Back in Europe, the filter is still fitted to 2017 Opel and Vauxhall Astra models with 1.0L three cylinder, and 1.4L and 1.6L four cylinder gasoline engines, and a 1.6L diesel engine.

At intervals of 50,000 miles (depending on driving conditions), using a K&N air filter cleaning kit you can easily clean and re-oil your air filter, which brings it back to brand-new condition and ready for another 50,000 miles of driving.
