The K&N 69-6030-1TFK Air Intake fits some Mazda RX-8 models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 69-6030-1TFK Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Mazda RX-8 models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-6030-1TFK air intake comes with a K&N high-flow air filter encased within an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber housing and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive flat black finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air straightener and several vent lines. The oversized encased air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

K&N 69-6030-1TFK Air Intake Product Reviews

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - Part 69-6030-1TFK
It's great. It's way louder than I expected, though, and there is no video or sound clip in existence that will explain to you how loud it actually is. I definitely felt a boost in performance as well. I wish it was a bit more subtle.

Great product. Sounds very nice, I would recommend this air fiter to anyone who owns a RX8 and is looking for a first modification. Fairly simple to install, only took me around an hour and a half. K&N never fails to impress, the carbon fiber also makes it look pretty cool under the hood.

Had this intake installed today and I think its really loud. Its gonna take some getting used to. Drove home, scared everyone on the highway. If you get this, you really don't need an exhaust because this thing covers for both. I think K&N could've toned it down a little to make it sound like a regular sounding intake.
