The K&N 63-9039 Air Intake fits some Toyota Tacoma models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 63-9039 AirCharger air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing on specific Toyota Tacoma models. K&N air intakes are designed to dramatically reduce air intake restriction as well as smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the original air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install, usually in 90 minutes or less using your vehicle’s existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, a ratchet set and several wrenches.

Well constructed, good fit and finish. Throttle response feels better but can't tell that there's any real power gain. The noise however is very noticeable. It's horrific under heavy acceleration. If your goal is to make your vehicle obnoxiously loud, then this is the kit for you.

The K&N I purchased was for a Tacoma 2016. It helped the low end torque, improved the gas mileage 1.3 mpg. Took me 30 mins to install. The sound is throaty. .great price. .dealer wanted 580.00 parts and labor. I am very pleased. ..

Does as advertised. Does increase power. Does remove the acceleration lag from the 2016 Tacoma. K&N flyer says it is nosier. Noise I can handle. Unfortunately, there is an unbelievable resonance at 3000 to 4000 rpm. It will melt your fillings. This is coming from somebody who used to race without mufflers. As long as you don’t push hard in the 3000 to 4000 band, you can handle the noise. You hit the accelerator hard where you force a downshift in that band, then the resonance hits. The only way to stop it is to back off. As for ease of installation, the flyer says 90 minutes. I had a professional mechanic do mine (I have a bad back and cannot lean over anymore). He did it in about 30 minutes. It is a straightforward installation. Bottom line: Yes, you do increase power. Yes, it gets rid of the acceleration lag in the 2016 Tacoma. Yes, it can be obscenely noisy.
