The K&N 77-9039KP Air Intake fits some Toyota Tacoma models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 77-9039KP high-flow performance air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit specific Toyota Tacoma models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing on your vehicle are replaced by this K&N air intake system which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. The improved air flow allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout your engine’s RPM range. In addition to more power, this air intake system improves engine sound with more aggressive and deeper acoustics during acceleration. Includes a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the original air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive chrome-like finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, a ratchet set and several wrenches. Some K&N 77 series air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Easy to install (~30 mins) and directions were excellent. Fitment was perfect. Looks like another 1mpg based on last 4-5 fill ups. Love the sound under acceleration. Would definitely recommend.

I couldn't be more pleased with the K&N Performance Intake System for my 2017 Tacoma 6 cylinder. Install took approximately 40 minutes and the directions were spot on. My increase in horsepower regarding acceleration was significant. Keep in mind I am comparing to my Tundra SRS with 365 horsepower. The Tacoma runs like I am driving someone else's pickup. Very pleased with your K&N air intake systems as I have installed them on three other of my sports cars as well.

The air intake installed without a hitch and really dresses up the engine compartment on my 2016 Tacoma. My 14 year old son and I were able to install the air intake in less than an hour. The improved performance can be felt immediately. The air intake produces a nice rumble from the engine compartment, not too much, not too little. When you step on the gas and the RPMs crank up, there is a really sweet sound from under the hood that reminds me of an old school V8. When driving normal, gas mileage is increased but it’s hard not to step on the gas to hear that nice sound.

I gave the K&N Air Intake System for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma 3.5l V-6 only two stars because of one thing. When the a/c kicks on, or there is a load at idle (turning steering wheel, etc), there is a very loud noise, what I am calling a burp each and every time. I took off the system, put back on the stock air intake, and you could not really hear this burp. Tech at K&N said that this: The noise you are describing sounds normal. This is probably the sound of the throttle body blade adjusting during idle. With the burp aside, the system was great I would give it five stars, without a doubt. But that noise, it just gets to me. If I drove it long distances, and not stop-and-go here in Hawaii, I probably wouldn't care. But, I drive seven miles a day, taking the boss to work, and it bothers me. The sound when you nail it is unreal It scared the pants off her on the freeway the first time. Oh, the joy's of a wrencher's wife... So, it's up to you. If the burp doesn't bother you, it's a great system. Installed in less than 30 minutes the first. I took it off and on four times, I got it down to 15 minutes to change the system back to stock, or back to the K&N. Fit was perfect. Mahalo for reading this.
