The K&N 63-2586 Air Intake fits some Ford Fusion models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 63-2586 AirCharger air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Ford Fusion models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce air intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 63-2586 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the original air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube and into the turbo inlet for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory emissions control devices including the inlet air temperature sensor and EVAP vent line. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed, depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, ratchet set and an Allen wrench. This air intake cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards.

I absolutely love my intake I have a 2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L, and I couldn't wait for this part to arrive. The instructions are very crisp and easy to read, and I had no issues with assembly. I have no experience working cars but had no issues installing the part myself. It is quite simple I removed the factory pipe and filter, after removing the inlet air temperature sensor and EVAP vent line connected to the pipe. Probably the most difficult part was installing the new rubber grommet into the pipe for the new inlet sensor, and ensuring you remove the correct bolt on the thermostat housing so you can attach the bracket for the new pipe. I left that bolt loose until the new pipe was fitted where I wanted it, then tightened the bracket. I took my time and installed it in just over an hour. I then took the car for a test drive on the interstate. The first thing you notice, (other than the unique sound) is the acceleration. With my old piping the car would accelerate sluggishly, even when the gas pedal was floored. Not anymore, acceleration is powerful and smooth. During cruise an increase of about 5-7 MPG was noticed. The MPG did take a slight hit when driving in the city, or anywhere with a lot of stopping and starting. This is a must have for any 1.6L Ecoboost owners

The part was waiting on my doorstep when I came home and I couldn't wait to install it on my 2013 Fusion SE. I have no experience working on cars but I do have some mechanical skills. It was very easy to install; it took me about 2 hours because I took my time. I took it out on the interstate after I was done and instantly could notice the higher horsepower. Before, when I attempted to accelerate swiftly the power would lag and it was as if the first or second gear was slipping. Not anymore, I can smash the gas pedal to the floor and the engine will swiftly accelerate. I will be checking the MPG on the way to work tomorrow.

This is the first mod that I've ever done. I've heard that it is a great first step in modifying your vehicle but never did. I thought it would be so sweet so I had a friend of mine install it for me due to lack of mechanical skills, but it was extremely simple. When I start up my car I can often hear it breathing, and when I let up off the gas with my turbo spooled it sounds like a whip in lower gears exhaling. MPG...I have not seen a difference but that's bc I have found my acceleration is much better and I can push my gears farther as well. Worthwhile investment and a must for all future vehicles in my book. 2013 Ford Fusion SE red 1.6 Ecoboost.

The Cold Air Intake makes a world of a difference on the 2013+ Fusion 1.6L. Turbo and BOV are very audible after installing. Has a lot more throttle response especially in the lower RPM's. Relatively easy to install, the most difficult part is installing the gasket onto the intake box. Other than that it''s a very easy plug and play installation.
