The K&N 57-1549 Air Intake fits some Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee III models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 57-1549 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Jeep models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your Jeep’s engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-1549 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, socket set and several wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N 57-1549 Air Intake Product Reviews

Monday, September 18, 2017 - Part 57-1549
I've owned cold air intake systems on all of my vehicles owned and recently installed this one from K&N on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Other than getting the hose back on the motor, it was pretty easy to install and brings the growl out of the 5.7L Hemi. A bit on the expensive side but a quality product nevertheless.

The product came timely, relatively easy to install (couple hiccups)..but love the way it responds and the way it sounds now still waiting to see the results in the gas mileage.

Installed this intake on my 2006 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi. It did everything it claimed it would. Performs better, sounds better, and made the throttle response better. Before the intake install the throttle was a little jumpy. Afterwards much smoother. Didn't expect that added little bonus. Don't know about the mileage but will find out after a planned road trip. Directions are good with the exception of step 13. The bolt to remove the air box is located between the coolant reservoir and the back of the air box. Figured it out but didn't have a good picture or explanation. Overall high quality and great product. Highly recommend.

I definitely recommend this product. Noticeable increase in torque at all RPMs. My 2006 5.7L Grand Cherokee even seems to shift smoother when accelerating normally from a stop. Maximum power accelerations produce an impressive deep throated sound in addition to the increased power. I am hoping to see an increase in gas mileage, but have not driven my vehicle enough with the new K&N Cold Air Intake installed to make a determination. Any increase will be just icing on the cake. Installation took me about an hour and a half and was not difficult. I recommend reading the instructions completely before starting the installation. That way, you can ensure you are using the correct nuts, bolts and washers as you proceed through the installation. I'm a fully satisfied customer. Thanks for a great product, K&N.
