The K&N 57-1531 Air Intake fits some Chrysler PT Cruiser models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 57-1531 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Chrysler PT Cruiser models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-1531 air intake comes with an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory turbo inlet and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, ratchet set and a couple of wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N 57-1531 Air Intake Product Reviews

I've had this installed on my 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT for a few years now. I absolutely love it and so does everyone who has ever seen or hear it. It makes my the it sounds so mean under the hood. You can hear it nicely anytime I hit the bass pedal. I do believe there is about a 12hp gain as stated. I've cleaned the filter using the filter recharged kit twice. It's super easy and makes it look brand new again. Only issue I've run into is in 6 years I've had to replace my car battery twice. To do so you have to uninstall the filter and heat shield. The rubber nut insert that the heat shield bolt into have torn apart after second uninstall BUT HAVE NO FEAR BECAUSE K&N had no issues offering to send out a couple new ones. All in all this has been one of the best purchase I've ever made. The product is incredible and K&N customer service is every bit the same Thank you K&N

I've had great results using your FIPK kits. Installed this one on an '03 PT Cruiser GT 2.4 Turbo 230HP stock. Added this kit and noticed differance in acceleration as usual. This is the 4th vehicle I've installed an FIPK kit on, (1) '98 Dakota 5.2 v8 84,000 mi. before trade off to (2) '02 Dakota 4.7 V8 now has 206,000 and still going and my wife's '06 Chrysler 300c 5.7 Hemi and she noticed the differance the first time she drove it. These systems work great for performance and fuel economy when you can keep your foot out of the pedal ;-)
