K&N produces performance improving products. “In drag racing, it’s all about improving my race car's performance,” he said. “At work, I am always looking at the design of our K&N Filters, trying to find new ways of producing and manufacturing products. These same principles apply when improving the performance of the race car. I am always looking at a different way to make power or a better run.”

Brown plans on a schedule of eight races in 2007. “My next event is at the Las Vegas Nationals,” he said. “I hope to do very well this year. I will also have a new engine combination after the Vegas event which will help.”

Brown is currently running a K&N Intake Scoop on his dragster. “In addition to my race car, K&N Products are on all my vehicles,” he said. “We travel to the races in a 34-foot motorhome and I use both K&N Air and Oil Filters.”

Gene Brown, Tom’s father was also a racer. “My dad raced junior stock, VW drag racing and NHRA Comp Eliminator,” said Brown. “When I turned 17, he quit. My dad hasn’t driven for 13 years but he’s the owner, horsepower finder and the man behind my racing. I work on the car with him and now I’m the driver.”

Tom’s daughter Maddy made her first visit to the race track at two months old. “Like Maddy, like Daddy,” said Brown. “If she develops a love for racing like I did, the family will support her 100 percent.”
