In 2007, he has 18 races scheduled on 11 different weekends. Fiello races the NHRA Lucas Oil division seven series in the Top Dragster Class. He also races the Mikes Transmission Top Comp series that has events in Fontana, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. “This year is a rebuilding year for me,” said Fiello. “I’ve got a new motor combination that’s making more power than last years. My goal is to not hurt anything and make the car as fast and consistent as possible.”

Fiello races a 2003 Undercover Dragster with 706 cubic inch, fuel injected big block Chevrolet for power. “My best time to date is 7.15 at 190 mph,” he said. “I hope to run 6.70’s at over 200 mph in the quarter mile next year.”

Fiello grew up around drag racers. The day he turned 16 his father retired from racing and Jonathan started racing. At K&N many of his projects are for the drag racing market. “It’s easy to apply what the customer wants since I’ve been around the sport for so long,” he said. “When it comes to decisions on my tune up and design of components, I apply what I’ve learned at K&N in fluid dynamics.”

K&N has a large presence in drag racing. “It’s comforting using the K&N HP-3002 Oil Filters knowing they perform so well by seeing the test results,” said Fiello. “I also use the K&N E-3003 Nozzle Filters. E-3003 prevents dirt from clogging up the fuel injection nozzles. This is very important because the smallest debris can block the nozzle and cause engine damage. The K&N HP-3002 Oil Filters keep contaminants out of the oil and keep the engine running like new.”

Fiello’s best race was at the Lucas Oil Division 7 race in Sonoma, California in 2003. “I won the super eliminator category,” he said. “I broke so many parts throughout the weekend and even hurt the motor in the final round. But I got the win and I’ll never forget it.”
