On Saturday night, Schatz returned to victory lane by dominating the Outlaws Down Under IV finale. “It’s great to get into the winners circle,” he said. “Everything came together for us in regards to the car setup, and it’s wonderful to take back-to-back Outlaws Down Under events. For my own personal satisfaction, for my team and the faith they have shown in me.”

Schatz finished seventh and fourth in the two Outlaws Down Under IV preliminary programs, but tallied the third most qualifying points into the finale. A fourth place finish in the dash pushed him to the outside second row starting position for the 40-lap race.

Steve Kinser took the early lead while Schatz worked past Australian racers Robbie Farr and Max Dumesny. On lap 10, Schatz was in second place when he took the lead from Kinser in this Rush Racing No. 15 Pick ‘N Payless J&J sprint car.

Once in front Schatz was able to open up a comfortable margin, but numerous cautions kept the pressure on the defending Knoxville Nationals Champion. Despite this he was the first man to the finish line.

“We are fortunate to work with such great product sponsors and without them we wouldn’t be here,” said Schatz. “The folks at K&N Engineering build a Carbon Airbox that is second to none. When you are racing, you have to be totally confident with every one of your components.”

The victory concluded his nine race schedule at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway, but Schatz will remain in Australia for three more nights of racing. Thursday, he’ll race in the Kings Challenge at Borderline Raceway. On Friday and Saturday, Schatz plans to compete in the prestigious “Classic” at Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. If Schatz wins the Classic, it will be his third victory.

Schatz will return to the United States the following Monday to work with his ParkerStore Team. They will prepare to defend his World of Outlaws championship in the United States at Volusia Speedway Park on February 9th in Florida.
