USAC National Sprint Car Series Racer Bud Kaeding Preps for Australia
Sprint Car Racer Bud Kaeding and his No. 29 Loan City/Team ASE Maxim/Shaver returns to action on December 26 at Parramatta City Raceway near Sydney, Australia.
Bud Kaeding uses K&N Engineering Products
“I'm ready to be back in the driver’s seat after the Western World Championships,” said the Campbell, California resident. “I had three top five wins over the three day event at Manzanita Speedway.”
Kaeding beat the defending series champion Levi Jones by about five car lengths in the opening night Thursday near Phoenix, Arizona.
During the event, Kaeding stretched his lead to more than a second at times and fought polesitter Dave Darland back and forth through the opening half of the race. By Lap 10, Kaeding had a two-second lead over Levi Jones, who passed Darland to get into the second position.
With only three laps to go, Jones and Kaeding were pinned behind Rickie Gaunt and Mike Spencer. Kaeding drove to the high side while Jones went to the bottom groove as they attempted to split the pack.
By lap 24 the duo passed Gaunt and Spencer, but Jones drove deep into Turn 3 and hit a bump at the bottom of Turn 4. Jones lost ground and Kaeding pulled away.
He pushed the lead to about five car lengths when the checkered flag flew. Kaeding sealed another victory late in the contest, bringing his total to 8 in the USAC National Sprint Car Series.
Kaeding and his crew use K&N Engineering Products. “K&N Airboxes and Oil Filters work great,” he said. “Our engine builder wouldn’t use anything else. K&N Products will be with us in Australia and during the 2007 series.”
