“It’s our first year as a team,” said manager Jeff Springman. The Rockstar Suzuki Team consists of riders Mike Brown, Sean Hamblin, Jason Lawrence and Ryan Mills. “We just added Josh Woods for Supercross,” he said. “At the prequel Jason Lawrence jumped from 17th place to win.” The prequel was a warm up race for the outdoors circuit. “Our team is an outdoors race team,” Springman said.

Mike Brown and Jason Lawrence ride a RMZ 250 Suzuki. “We're really excited about the outdoors,” said Springman. “Mike Brown could be a title contender.” Ryan Mills and Sean Hamblin ride the RMZ 450 Suzuki. “All our bikes have been running the K&N Engineering High-Flow Air and Oil filters,” said Springman. “I could have picked any other filter but we found that K&N filters worked the best when we did our own testing. K&N filters hold up really well in the dirt.”

The AMA Motocross and Supercross Championships include two classes of competition. It’s based on engine size and type: AMA Supercross is for 250cc two-stroke and 450cc four-stroke machinery; and AMA Supercross Lites for 125cc two-stroke and 250cc four-stroke equipment. The same rules apply to the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes.

AMA National Championship titles are presented in the AMA Supercross, AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes. The Supercross Lites class is split into eastern and western divisions.

“The 250 class is tougher because of riders like Ricky Carmichael, James (Bubba) Stewart and Chad Reed,” said Springman. “Those three guys are so much above the rest of the whole group. We’re hoping to finish in the top ten in this class.”
