K&N Drag Racer Wins First Race of SCEDA Season at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana
Drag Racer Milt Gedo piloted his KD Kanopy/K&N Filters/Jiffy-Tite dragster to a win in the first SCEDA (Southern California Drag Racing Association) race of the season.

The two day event featured separate competitions over two days at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California. In preparation for the Winternationals at Pomona, California Gedo made as many shake-down runs as he could. SCEDA features bracket racing, which is part of Gedo’s drag racing background.
On Saturday, Gedo was paired in the final round against professional Funny Car driver Jack Beckman. Both racers ran quicker than their dial-in, but Beckman ultimately won. On Sunday, Gedo’s performance was consistent. “I did not want to be runner-up two days in a row,” he said. “I was paired against Alan Hoefer, but launched the K&N Filters dragster out of the gate with a 0.008 reaction time. I ran an 8.330 on my 8.32 dial-in and won.”
Gedo uses K&N air and oil filters on his 555 cubic inch big block Chevy engine in his dragster. Steve Williams, K&N Engineering Vice President and drag racer introduced Gedo to the benefits of using K&N products. “For a long time, I ran without an air filter,” said Gedo. “The nice thing about using K&N now is there is no restriction added to the airflow. I make maximum horsepower and get the maximum speed with K&N.”
