Atkins led every lap in his Aprilia twin-cylinder SXV550 and pulled away to a 5.977 second margin of victory. “This track was great, I just did what I needed to keep increasing the gap over the rest of the field,” said Atkins. “It went really well for me because I was first in our qualifying group, first in the heat and first in the final.”

Carlson went down on the first lap and rode from twelfth to fifth in the ten lap race. “I lost the front end going into a right hand turn,” said Carlson. “The track temperature changed a lot from the heats to the final as the sun started to set. I was happy to be able to come back and get some good points to keep my championship lead healthy.”

Ben Carlson currently leads the championship standings with 163 points and Darryl Atkins is second with 123 points. Factory Aprilia uses K&N Engineering Products. We use K&N Air and Oil Filters,” said Atkins. “Our bikes run better and we gain horsepower on the track,” said Atkins. “Ben and I are 100 percent confident because we know we can depend on K&N.”

Carlson is ready to bounce back to his winning ways as Atkins looks for a second career win as the series resumes at Galveston, Texas on November 3-4.
