The Fargo, North Dakota resident returns to the half-mile dirt oval in his ParkerStore/Tom Johnson Camping Center No.15 J&N with K&N Engineering Products Friday and Saturday night. At stake, a $50,000-to-win purse at the 45th annual Cleveland Brothers National Open.

“Williams Grove has been really good to us in the past,” said Schatz. “We’ve raced really well there and have been a bit lucky too. The National Open is one of our more prestigious races of the year and we’re looking forward to it.”

Schatz is a three time winner of the National Open and has won four of the five World of Outlaw races contested at Williams Grove this year. He’ll be making his 66th start at the track on Friday night.

“We’ve had things go our way in the big money races,” said Schatz, who has 19 career wins in races paying $20,000 or more to win. “We’re going to have to be on our game at the National Open. There isn’t a tougher bunch of regional drivers than the guys from Pennsylvania. You win championships by never giving up and working for everything you get. My guys work hard to give me a race car this good. Our K&N Engineering Carbon Fiber Airbox helps us achieve maximum horsepower at every race.”

Schatz and Joey Saldana are locked in a tight battle for the 2007 World of Outlaws Championship. With only 10 races remaining, Schatz holds a 35 point advantage.
