The K&N 77-9039KP Air Intake fits some Toyota Tacoma models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 77-9039KP high-flow performance air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit specific Toyota Tacoma models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing on your vehicle are replaced by this K&N air intake system which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. The improved air flow allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout your engine’s RPM range. In addition to more power, this air intake system improves engine sound with more aggressive and deeper acoustics during acceleration. Includes a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the original air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive chrome-like finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, a ratchet set and several wrenches. Some K&N 77 series air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

I love the sound of this air intake and there is definitely more horsepower, but I lost a ton in MPG. I know this product doesn't advertise increased MPG, but I'm still a little disappointed in the major decrease. I've gone through 2 full tanks of gas in my 2016 Tacoma and I used to get 22 MPG in the mountains/hwy and close to 20 in the city. Now I'm getting about 16 MPG on both. I have used the same driving habits for everything and my MPG went way down. Although, in the last few days I have been keeping an eye on my 'Current Fuel Efficiency' bar and I have noticed that I have to be SUPER gentle on the gas to have maximum fuel efficiency. Within the last few days and having made the correction to being light on the gas, my MPG has gone up to 21MPG in the city. So I'm assuming I need to be extremely light on the gas to get better fuel efficiency. I have also ordered a new exhaust system that advertises increased MPG, so we will see what happens with my MPG when I put on the new exhaust. Overall, I do love the new air intake and the only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the major decrease in MPG.

I have been using the Cold Air Intake for about a month now. It was very easy to install, only took about 45 minutes and I am not a mechanic by any means. I can feel a change in throttle response from added horsepower, gas mileage has also gone up by about a mile, and the truck sounds different. I paired the cold air intake with a Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust muffler and it sounds very loud and deep. Overall, this Cold Air Intake is definitely worth the money.
