The K&N 57-3016-1 FIPK air intake system replaces your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-3016-1 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and air injection hose (on certain vehicles). A miniature air filter mounts onto the heat shield and is provided for the air injection hose. The oversized, oval tapered cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. On vehicles equipped with an air injection, an additional small air filter is installed on the air injection hose within the heat shield. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points and requires commonly available tools. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N 57-3016-1 Air Intake Product Reviews

It's a very easy installation and looks good when it's in. I'm giving it 3 stars because its really loud in the cab around 3,000 rpms and when pulling, it's a loud vibration almost. I could tell a power and torgue difference when installed. Knowing how loud it is now, I honestly probably wouldn't have purchased it. So if there's any way of making it quieter it would be worth it.

Outstanding intake. Super easy to install even for me who isn't an expert mechanic by any means. As soon as I drove it after installation, the throttle response was instant. The sound is way more aggressive up front and when it's cold it sounds AWESOME. Every time you let off the gas, it sounds fantastic with the amount of air being sucked in and let out. Great investment for the Vortec 454. Can't beat it.

I must say I love the engine sound a CAI makes, I have a 97 suburban I use to tow our proStreet camaro to the strip, it's getting older in life and we're going to be replacing it soon, it's gone it's whole life bone stock (192k mi's), so we put it on our mustang dyno. it pulled 204hp. we added this FIPK and it pulled 217hp, we didn't get the same bubble as K&N got at 4000rpm but it pulled higher across the board. We then installed a short tube header, put in electric fans, a 225/225 @ .050 cam, and reprogrammed the ECM. Got it up to 322hp on 93 octane. We ran a 15.04 at the drag strip, after pulling our Camaro in a box trailer for 2hrs. These FIPK's are built well, and are great for someone looking for an increase in HP and torque.
