The K&N 57-1559 Air Intake fits some Jeep Liberty models. See vehicle applications link for details.
The K&N 57-1559 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Jeep Liberty models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-1559 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points requiring commonly available tools to do the job. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N 57-1559 Air Intake Product Reviews

I couldn't be happier with my new intake. It helped fuel milage for sure. It helped my throttle response. And personal favorite thing about this intake is when I'm cruising down the road and the jeep shifts into a lower gear and I can just hear the intake doing it's thing. It sounds sort of like a whistle and it's amazing.

My Jeep was sluggish on my commute and only got about 16.5mpg in mixed driving, so I was really interested in the K&N Intake Kit for my 2008 Liberty. The install took about two hours, mainly because it was very difficult to make out details in the example photos, and I had to build everything first before tightening all the fittings to ensure it would all sit and fit correctly under my hood. Once it was in place I took a quick test drive. AMAZING I now have so much power coming out of that little 3.6L engine, but I haven't put it on a dyno. Even my wife is impressed with the pick up that intake and filter provide. Now, my mileage has dropped a bit to 15.9 in mixed driving, but since it can now pass like my Oldsmobile Intrigue could, I'm probably driving much more aggressively than I realize.
