Utah Racer Wins Richfield Unlimited 4x4 Rock Race Competition

Mike Stumph took top honors at the Richfield Unlimited 4X4 Competition in Richfield, Utah. The 15-year-old Delta, Utah resident is part of the Stumph racing clan. His father, Craig Stumph has been racing for forty years.

The event included a rock race, 4X4 mud bog and trail rides. The competition started in the late afternoon and finished under the lights of the Sevier County Fair.

“The mud bog was separate from the rock race,” said Craig Stumph. “Sixty competitors entered the event and the atmosphere was filled with electricity.”

Mike won the rock racing unlimited stock class in one-minute four-seconds. “That was the best time on the 1/8 mile course,” said Stumph. “There was a wall of logs on the extreme course. Each log was the size of a telephone pole and they were stacked with dirt in between each log. Mike hit it hard and just right to go right over it. He just punched it.”
