Kvapil started on the pole, but Mike Skinner took the lead on the first lap. It took five laps before Kvapil put the K&N Ford back out front, where he held onto the lead until lap 23. He reported that his No.6 was tight on entry, a problem that dropped him back to third place. When the first caution flag came out at lap 32, Kvapil went to pit road for tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment.

Kvapil restarted in 3rd position, but moved to second quickly. Kvapil reported that the changes to the K&N Ford helped him in turns one and two, but he continued to fight a tight condition in turns three and four. When the caution flag came out at lap 85, crew chief Mike Beam brought Kvapil back to pit road for adjustments. The K&N crew then sent him back for the restart at lap 95 in the third position.

As the laps clicked off, Kvapil took second position at lap 129 and reassumed the lead on lap 133. The K&N Ford stayed first in the closing laps, giving Kvapil and the K&N Team their fourth win of the 2007 season.

“What an awesome finish,” said Kvapil. “Our whole weekend was awesome. This is the truck we won a couple of races with earlier in the year. We knew it was fast at this type of race track. We were good in practice and just kept working on it. Everyone on the K&N Team did a wonderful job of staying with it.”

Kvapil and the No.6 Filters Team remain in the third position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings following the Las Vegas win. The next race will be at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, October 6.
