During the Golden State Challenge Series event the former track champion took the lead on the 16th lap in the main and never looked back. The track surface was very fast and sticky, but Allard was up to the challenge and made a lot of passes to put the K&N Filters No. 0 into the runner-up spot after about ten laps.

“I battled with leader Destiney Hays through traffic,” said Allard. “The fans were on the edge of their seats as we ran inches apart while navigating through the slower cars. I finally got the momentum I needed and put the car on the top shelf in turn one and drove by Destiney off the second corner.” Allard took the win on Friday night.

On Saturday, some rough spots on the track created one of the longest main events of the season. Allard started the main and settled into third behind Tyler Walker and Tim Kaeding. The three stayed near the front until the action heated up on the 13th lap. Allard waited patiently until Kaeding took the lead on the 17th lap and moved up to second place. A red flag stopped the action, and everything changed when the race started again.

Brad Bumgarner lost his brakes and tagged Allard in the rear on the restart. Allard spun sideways and fell back to the rear of the field. He regrouped and picked up a few spots and finished at seventh. Bumgarner apologized for the contact.

“It was one of those things,” said Allard. “I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. We only have two weekends to go before the King of California is crowned and we’re concentrating on that.”

Allard uses K&N Engineering products. “K&N has the best air and oil filters on the market,” he said. “We’ve had many racers come to us and discuss the problems they are experiencing with other brands of racing filters that blow the sealing ring. We tell them about K&N, they switch and do not have any more failures. With our K&N air box the maintenance is effortless. Take one look at the champions around the race track and you will see why champions choose K&N.”

Allard is the points leader as the Golden State Challenge Series winds down with just two weeks remaining in the season.
