The 2004 and 2006 Grand Prix Champion claimed only 9 points for the night and said he feels like the shadow of the rider he was only one year ago.

“I came here to get a good result and close the point gap, but my performance was pretty average,” said Crump. “I’ve had a bad patch so far this season and I’m dealing with it. There are seven more rounds to go, so there is still hope. If I can return to the form I am accustomed to, there is no reason why I cannot be challenging the leaders again.”

Sweden’s Andreas Jonsson stunned the crowd of 30.000 when he snatched the victory from Denmark’s Nicki Penderson, Australian Leigh Adams and Polish veteran Tomasz Gollob.

After 4 rounds Crump is 5th in the World Championship Standings. The 31-year-old Queenslander uses K&N Engineering products. “I love K&N products, the K&N Filters are the best in the world,” said Crump. “I have solely used K&N products and never had a problem. K&N is the best for dirt track racing and does the job it was made to do.”

Round 5 of the 2007 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship will take place at Millennium Stadium at Cardiff, Wales on June 30th.
