Dylan Kwasniewski took another step toward winning his second NASCAR K&N Pro Series championship in as many years. Kwasniewski won the inaugural NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Virginia International Raceway winning the pole and leading a race-high 39 laps.

It was his fourth win of the season in the East Series and his ninth overall in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. It was also his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series win on a road course.

"It was an awesome race. I couldn't ask for anything better," Kwasniewski said. "I thought they were going to get me there for a little bit, but we just had to keep calm and make sure I didn't burn off my tires because that was the biggest thing. We had to keep the tires under us and make sure we had rubber left at the end, and we did."

He led the first 10 laps of the race before giving way to Daniel Suarez, who won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Columbus Motor Speedway in Ohio. Suarez was in the lead for 17 laps until Kwasniewski regained it on lap 29.

The race ended under a green-white-checkered flag when the engine in Suarez's car blew up on lap 50. Suarez crossed the finish line in 18th place.
This win marks Dylan Kwasniewski's fourth win of the season in the East Series and his ninth overall in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.

Bryan Ortiz was second, followed by Brett Moffitt in third. Ben Kennedy was fourth and Gray Gaulding was the highest-finishing rookie in fifth.

Dylan Kwasniewski leads the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings by 28 points over Moffitt with five races to go. Kennedy is in third place in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings, 40 points behind Kwasniewski.

NASCAR K&N Pro Series veteran Peyton Sellers made his first start since 2008. He was seventh at Virginia International Raceway. In his previous start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, he won the race at Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut.

Rookie Scott Heckert posted his best finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. He was eighth, his first top-10 finish in 10 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts. The next race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East is the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 140 at Greenville Pickens Speedway in South Carolina on September 2.
