K&N Engineering's Generation II 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-2566) replaces the factory air box, filter and intake tube. The result is more horsepower. K&N's dynamometer shows a 7.54 horsepower gain at 4996 RPM.
"The tube was squeezed down to keep the mass air happy," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "We kept the car's computer within its operating perimeters for more horsepower." With the addition of the 57-Series FIPK the Mustang's engine inhales a larger volume of air than the OEM air filter assembly.
K&N's FIPK (57-2566) can be installed in 90 minutes or less with simple hand tools and lasts up to 100,000 miles before service is required (depending on driving conditions).
