The original factory tube shape was not efficient for getting the air box to the throttle body. K&N’s placement of the mass air sensor, the dimensions of the intake tube and use of a K&N air filter (RU-4730) are the reasons for the additional horsepower.

The powder coated steel heat shield isolates the washable and reusable K&N air filter from the heat of the engine. This results in cooler air going into the engine for an immediate power gain.

K&N air intakes provide added performance while proving excellent filtration for the life of your vehicle. The K&N air intake system can be installed in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
