Since 2008, the Race and Performance Expo has been one of the most exciting and successful events of the year. This show allows industry leaders and manufacturers to come together and show the newest automotive products and materials in a large convention setting. Along with the different vendors in attendance, the annual Engine Challenge will also be the highlight of this year's show at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, IL. This expo is held to show the grassroots, muscle car and drag racing specialty products of some of the manufacturers in the industry. Complete with specialized training seminars and dozens of vendor booths, the R&P Expo is sure to be a highlight of this year's events.

K&N will be sponsoring a team from Lockport Township High School in this year's engine challenge. This competition will challenge the teams of high school students to properly disassemble an engine and all its components before rebuilding it in the fastest time; testing both teamwork and knowledge of the modern internal combustion engine. The team consists of senior: Jake Kobart, and juniors: Edgar Narbutas, John Palkovitz, Miguel Torres and Kyle Heep. "This is the second year that Edgar and John have been competing together," says instructor mark de la Vega. "They participated in the competition last year as sophomores and will conclude, next year, as seniors." De la Vega also states that all five students would like to pursue an automotive career upon graduation.

K&N will also be sponsoring a second team in the race from Joliet Township. "The students have been working very hard and are looking forward to the competition," says instructor Mark Brannick. An experienced drag racer for over 30 years, Brannick states that the team is ready to compete at this year's event. "Our school, Joliet Township, was lucky enough to win the first National Competition in Las Vegas in 2009." The K&N sponsored team from Joliet Township is composed of students: Jeremy Busler, Kevin Cabay, Tyler Hicks, Josh Lewandowski, and Mitchel Long. K&N would like to extend the best of luck to all its sponsored teams and competitors and to remind those attending of the Race and Performance Expo being held at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, IL. on February 26th and 27th.
