2006 to 2008 Ford Explorer Gets Additional Power with K&N Performance Air Intake System

The Ford Explorer uses a body on frame construction with a typical truck chassis for maximum design flexibility. Isolating the frame from the body helps achieve a quiet ride. A stiff frame allows engineers to control body motion for a mix of driver comfort and precision. The result is steering precision and directional stability.

To gain more horsepower simply replace the Explorer's original intake assembly with an all-new K&N Performance Air Intake System. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter (RF-1048) which increases airflow and filtering capacity. The chrome top cone-shaped K&N Air Filter is washable and never needs to be replaced.

A powder coated steel heat shield replaces the stock air box and protects the K&N Air Filter while isolating it from engine heat.

The 77-2573KP uses the OE Mass Airflow Sensor, and although the MAF is re-positioned to assist in more horsepower, no computer programming is required.

It can be installed in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty
