K&N Pro Series Oil Filters have been specially designed for professional installers and service providers. Their high flow design can help to improve engine performance by reducing oil filter restriction. Our Pro Series Oil Filters have a fluted canister shape so they can be removed with a traditional oil filter wrench commonly available to commercial installers. These Pro Series oil filters provide outstanding filtration and engine protection throughout their service life. They are engineered to handle all grades of synthetic, conventional and blended motor oils. The pleated media provides high capacity making them suitable for extended oil change intervals when used in accordance with the vehicle and motor oil manufacturers recommendation. I got my 2014 Mazda 3 S 2.5 in April and immediately replaced the paper filter with a K&N filter. However I had been thinking of replacing the intake with a High Performance Intake unit. I checked with the Service Manager at my dealer to see if there would be any warranty issues. He said that it would not impact any warranty coverage (although he suggested that I could replace the K&N unit with the original air intake if there was a factory recall on the fuel system). I found this kit really easy to install. The photo instructions were well detailed and easy to follow. I was amazed at the length of the original factory unit. From the 5 inch slot opening it takes a 90 degree turn, goes down 20 inches into the fenderwell, does a 180 and goes back up another 20 inches to the bottom of the airbox. The K&N unit occupies the same space as the factory airbox and is a short 12 inch run to the engine. As I said it was an easy, follow the step/photo installation. The use of the factory air sensor meant there was no recalibration or special tuning required. I just started the engine, checked all of the fittings and clamps to be sure there was no leakage, shut the hood, took a short test drive and it was good to go. You can easily feel the performance increase, especially with the 2.5 liter engine's automatic in sport mode. My brother, who used to sell Mazdas, drove the car before the upgrade and after. He agreed that the performance increase was very noticeable. Plus we both found the very deep intake growl (most noticeable in the Sport mode) to be a blast. It can be intrusive, but isn't anywhere as noticeable when your driving in the normal mode, so this isn't an issue for me. I stopped at my dealer and 3 of the salesmen wanted to see and hear the KN Typhoon. They all loved it and they plan to talk to the Parts Manager about making the kit something that he offers rather than the current I can get one for you which is what he told me when I asked about K&N products. I wanted the kit right away so I checked availability at the O'Reilly Auto store's website (very big in Minnesota). They listed a K&N Typhoon kit. However when I checked with the K&N website the part number they had listed was shown by K&N as for the 2004-2012 Toyota Corolla. So if you want to get a Typhoon kit through your local dealer, be sure to go to the K&N site first to be sure that you get the correct part number. All in all I can highly recommend both the K&N Typhoon Performance kit and ordering directly from K&N. Both exceeded my expectations.

I bought this filter to see if I could increase my mileage. I was shocked at a 10% increase in MPG. My 2013 Accord V6 manual was getting 27-28 on the Hwy with the stock air cleaner. When I put in the K&N filter I am now getting 31-32 MPG. I once tried to drive real easy just to see how good I could get for mileage and once got 34.3 MPG. This car doesn't need any more power at almost 280 horse it's almost too much for front wheel drive, but it's fun when you want it. Highly recommend this product. Oh I even put a K&N filter in my wife's 2014 Mazda 6 and have seen similar results. Great filter. Again highly recommend.

I bought this for my 2007 Mazda 6, standard transmission. I felt the horsepower increase the first day of use! The engine growls on the highway! I love it! Next I have to get a catback exhaust! If u have this car in stick, you will definitely enjoy!
