Keep doing what you're doing!
I have a 1983 Mazda Rx-7 all stock with a manual transmission. I purchased the K&N air filter and I really noticed a difference. I had to start shifting faster because the r.p.m.'s just shot right up. I haven't gotten to take it out and test it yet but as soon as the weather lets me I definitely will. I tell everyone to go and get one for their car because I'm extremely impressed with the h.p. boost. Thank you for making such a great product.

K&N Air Filters Praise!!!
Just another one of those "You're Filter Rocks!!!" e-mails. I'm sure with
the quality of product that you make, you get tons of these. Anyway, I
have a 1988 Mazda RX-7 with one of your air filters on it and I noticed
immediate increases in power, Average MPG, and just in general less wear and
tear on my old rotary engine (now proudly sitting in my driveway with 200,200
miles on it). My engine is still in great condition thanks to in no small
part my mechanic, and K&N for the great products they make to ensure the average
Joe can afford to keep the car they love in great working condition.
Whether you drive a suped up sports car, a classic piece of American muscle, or
your soccer mom (no offense soccer dads) mini-van, K&N can help anyone ensure
they get the most out of their engine.
One more thing I would like to thank you for is availability of your product.
Replacement filters, cleaning kits, and other necessary parts are located
EVERYWHERE, which makes maintaining this system a breeze.

I got my 2014 Mazda 3 S 2.5 in April and immediately replaced the paper filter with a K&N filter. However I had been thinking of replacing the intake with a High Performance Intake unit. I checked with the Service Manager at my dealer to see if there would be any warranty issues. He said that it would not impact any warranty coverage (although he suggested that I could replace the K&N unit with the original air intake if there was a factory recall on the fuel system). I found this kit really easy to install. The photo instructions were well detailed and easy to follow. I was amazed at the length of the original factory unit. From the 5 inch slot opening it takes a 90 degree turn, goes down 20 inches into the fenderwell, does a 180 and goes back up another 20 inches to the bottom of the airbox. The K&N unit occupies the same space as the factory airbox and is a short 12 inch run to the engine. As I said it was an easy, follow the step/photo installation. The use of the factory air sensor meant there was no recalibration or special tuning required. I just started the engine, checked all of the fittings and clamps to be sure there was no leakage, shut the hood, took a short test drive and it was good to go.
You can easily feel the performance increase, especially with the 2.5 liter engine's automatic in sport mode. My brother, who used to sell Mazdas, drove the car before the upgrade and after. He agreed that the performance increase was very noticeable. Plus we both found the very deep intake growl (most noticeable in the Sport mode) to be a blast. It can be intrusive, but isn't anywhere as noticeable when your driving in the normal mode, so this isn't an issue for me.
I stopped at my dealer and 3 of the salesmen wanted to see and hear the KN Typhoon. They all loved it and they plan to talk to the Parts Manager about making the kit something that he offers rather than the current I can get one for you which is what he told me when I asked about K&N products.
I wanted the kit right away so I checked availability at the O'Reilly Auto store's website (very big in Minnesota). They listed a K&N Typhoon kit. However when I checked with the K&N website the part number they had listed was shown by K&N as for the 2004-2012 Toyota Corolla. So if you want to get a Typhoon kit through your local dealer, be sure to go to the K&N site first to be sure that you get the correct part number.
All in all I can highly recommend both the K&N Typhoon Performance kit and ordering directly from K&N. Both exceeded my expectations.
