The K&N 71-3070 Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air intake system that is guaranteed to gain power. It replaces your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This low restriction air intake allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more power and acceleration. This K&N Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System comes with black components including the K&N high-flow air filter and heat shield. The attractive textured black powder-coated finish tube features an engraved K&N plate welded on to which gives it a clean, high-performance look under the hood. The intake tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter is made from an oil-free synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points using commonly available tools. This Blackhawk Induction System cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Outstanding product. simple to install. and immediately noticed the difference. Only downside as one previous reviewer mentioned, is that my MPG has reduced significantly due to me constantly putting the pedal to the metal.

Perfect fit, easy and quick install. It sounds great. I can tell the throttle response is much better. I have not checked MPG yet.

I purchased this intake looking for a little something out of my truck and this fit the ticket perfect. I definitely noticed a bit of acceleration gain as well as a nice deep tone when getting up to speed. Install was simple and only took about a half of an hour. I received the intake in the same business week that I had ordered it.  The all black looks awesome under the hood and matches everything very well. Good quality product I would definitely recommend this intake to anybody looking for one.

everything went well, easy after I watched the video a few times, and I love the sound when I get on it

Thoroughly impressed with product. K&N was recommended to me nearly a year ago but I was delayed in purchasing product, awaiting the emissions approval (all states) process as I live in an area requiring annual emissions/safety inspections. Was about to order the 57-series product when I noted (on the K&N website) that the emissions approval had been granted for the 71-3070 kit, so ordered it. Installation was pretty much as advertised (printed directions came with kit but the on-line video was enormous help) although a little more explanation on the removal of certain hoses/clamps, for those of us who are not regularly under the hood, would have been beneficial (could have saved me another 45+ mins) as some of the factory connections (clamp styles) are not typical of what you find associated with everyday products. What really impressed me with the product is the performance improvement of my 2011 Chevy Tahoe. Throttle response (gas peddle & carburetor) are noticeably quicker and produce more power with the same gas-peddle input as before installation. The evidence was demonstrated to me on a recent trip of ~660 miles through the mountainous area of W PA. Where I had previously experienced between 18-18.5 miles/gal (my less than scientific observations/calculations over the past couple of years), I averaged a better MPG on this trip (20.4 mpg on the outbound half of the trip (less traffic which enabled a relatively stable 70mph (on cruise control), and 18.75 mpg on the return trip in heavier traffic which required more speed variations and a higher avg speed (a lot less use of the benefits of cruise control). Very pleased with what I observed/perceived as an increase of power (and responsiveness) available for acceleration at higher speeds and in mountainous terrain. All in all, glad I waited for, and made, this purchase. BTW, as a retired Air Force flyer, I know a little about the requirements for power and acceleration.
