The K&N 71-1562 Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air intake system that is guaranteed to gain power. It replaces your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This low restriction air intake allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more power and acceleration. This K&N Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System comes with black components including the K&N high-flow air filter and heat shield. The attractive textured black powder-coated finish tube features an engraved K&N plate welded on to which gives it a clean, high-performance look under the hood. The intake tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor and air temperature sensor. The oversized cone shaped air filter is made from an oil-free synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points using commonly available tools. This Blackhawk Induction System cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

I really like how simple the installation was, and we have had automotive center for over 25 years. I believe that anyone with a few simple tools could do the installation. I drive a lot and the day we bought are truck I check my mileage . I get consistently 15.2 mpg on the hwy.On the same hwy .same speed 17.3 very happy with the over 2 mpg. The only thing it's a little loud under heavy acceleration but other then that it is awesome .My truck is a 2015 Ram 2500 heavy duty with 3.73 gears 4x4. GET ONE YOU NEED IT.

I use K&N filters in all my vehicles. I had recently purchased a 2015 Ram 3500. Bought the K&N filter for that and noticed an immediate increase in fuel mileage and performance due to better airflow through the K&N filter. & I have K&N on both of my Harley's and my wife's Honda Prelude

The 71-1561, 2009-2014 Ram 1500 and 2013-2014 Ram 2500 V8-5.7L HEMI, is a great mod for your RAM with instant results The instructions were good but some points I would like to share. I installed this induction system Friday the 13th of June, 2014. UPDATE: Re-installed on my 2015 RAM Sport Reference the IAT, Inlet Air Temperature, sensor two things to note. (1) Handle with care and confirm no debris on the end of the sensor, my application was blue in color. (2) Orientation of the IAT sensor should be in line with the flow of air inside the tube. Just take note how the IAT is positioned on the OEM intake tube when removing. I applied a very small amount of petroleum jelly on the oring, confirm you seat the IAT fully into the grommet and in the correct orientation. As far as the intake tube fitting many are complaining that they have broken, stating is cheap, etc., contacted K&N, which they have replaced for no charge great customer service BTW But if you follow the instructions it states the following: Plastic NPT (National Pipe Thread?) fittings are easy to cross thread. Install the vent fitting 'hand' tight then turn it two complete turns with a wrench. I used the box end with no problems/issues. The fitting will show approximately 3 threads left and I feel installers observe this and crank it down & snap the fitting. Bottom line of course is to take the time to read the instructions completely, then confirm parts and organize, then start with step 1 and have fun. Make it a slow process and enjoy the moment of your installation of your new mod Then as you stand back admiring your work, treat yourself to your favorite beverage.
