The K&N 71-1561 Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air intake system that is guaranteed to gain power. It replaces your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This low restriction air intake allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than it would from the stock air intake. More air means more power and acceleration. This K&N Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System comes with black components including the K&N high-flow air filter and heat shield. The attractive textured black powder-coated finish tube features an engraved K&N plate welded on to which gives it a clean, high-performance look under the hood. The intake tube accommodates the factory air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter is made from an oil-free synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points using commonly available tools. Some K&N Blackhawk Induction Systems are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are 50 state legal. K&N 71-1561 Air Intake Product Reviews

What can I say? WOW! I love my intake on my 13 Ram 1500. It looks super clean, guaranteed horsepower, and you can definitely feel the difference from stock; has way more throttle response. I highly recommend this intake if your looking for the black mean look. LOL. Thanks again. I will consider buying another one for my future trucks.

Well worth the price Must have for any vehicle. Customer service was spot on; even when I messed up the installation and needed a replacement part. K&N sent me a new one for free.

The 71-1561, 2009-2014 Ram 1500 and 2013-2014 Ram 2500 V8-5.7L HEMI, is a great mod for your RAM with instant results The instructions were good but some points I would like to share. I installed this induction system Friday the 13th of June, 2014. UPDATE: Re-installed on my 2015 RAM Sport Reference the IAT, Inlet Air Temperature, sensor two things to note. (1) Handle with care and confirm no debris on the end of the sensor, my application was blue in color. (2) Orientation of the IAT sensor should be in line with the flow of air inside the tube. Just take note how the IAT is positioned on the OEM intake tube when removing. I applied a very small amount of petroleum jelly on the oring, confirm you seat the IAT fully into the grommet and in the correct orientation. As far as the intake tube fitting many are complaining that they have broken, stating is cheap, etc., contacted K&N, which they have replaced for no charge great customer service BTW But if you follow the instructions it states the following: Plastic NPT (National Pipe Thread?) fittings are easy to cross thread. Install the vent fitting 'hand' tight then turn it two complete turns with a wrench. I used the box end with no problems/issues. The fitting will show approximately 3 threads left and I feel installers observe this and crank it down & snap the fitting. Bottom line of course is to take the time to read the instructions completely, then confirm parts and organize, then start with step 1 and have fun. Make it a slow process and enjoy the moment of your installation of your new mod Then as you stand back admiring your work, treat yourself to your favorite beverage. PS Don't forget to take before and after pics

Great product. One hour install and instant 1.5 mpg increase. I really feel the power gain in the mid range and it fits my 2014 Ram just as good as original intake, as well it looks great.
