The K&N 69-9751TB Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Volkswagon Bora, SEAT Toledo II or Leon models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-9751TB air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive blue powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the engine breather hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, pliers, an Allen wrench and a 10 millimeter spanner. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Customer Feedback

Dear K&N,

I own a 2002 Volkswagen Bora 1.9 TDi Sport 150 with 85,000 miles on the clock. It's a high miler as I use it pretty much every day for work and I need to travel about rather a lot. The car is pretty quick but had developed a flat spot around the 800 to 1800rpm spot. In an effort to fix it, I purchased one of your replacement air filters (P/N 33-2128). It arrived yesterday and despite the rain, I went out and fitted it straight away, removing the extremely grotty original filter plus general muck and leaves from the air box in the process. And, of course, went out for a test drive to see if it had worked.

So, did it fix the flat spot? Hell, yes! It also enormously improved throttle responsiveness and there was a very noticeable increase in power with much better acceleration. My Bora felt like the sporty diesel it should have been in the first place! I managed to scare myself silly by activating the traction control system in *4th* while accelerating out of a corner. Now, that has *never* happened before!

I definitely recommend fitting one of your filters and only wish I'd done it earlier. Now, how do I claim for soiled underwear ..? :)

Thanks K&N!

P.S. Why aren't your filters fitted as standard equipment?

These are great filters but make sure to clean the filter element after each oil change. Since it is full flow if the filter part starts to clog, then the bypass valve will start to operate, and as it is that will destroy the bypass filter seat if left too long, and cause issues. Otherwise, your oil pressure will increase, and your engine will run smoother, and last longer.

Nice filter, but does not fit properly without breaking the plastic tabs on the cabin filter tray. I broke them off to properly seat the filter, without doing that dust will find it's way through and into the car, especially when the fan speed is turned up high. The tabs are only there to hold the paper filters in place, and does not serve any other purpose. So breaking them is just fine to seat the K&N filter Acura TSX 2007
