The K&N 69-8616TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Scion TC models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-8616TS air intake comes with an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, a ratchet set and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Fast delivery service!!! Although this is a very easy thing to install in your car, I suggest that you partner up with someone that knows about engine mods and intake installations at least once. (For those who are just starting to get in to engine modding.) because there are little bolts and washers that came along with the intake that needs to install properly. Just make sure to read and follow the instructions properly or you might get a CEL in your car. Overall it's a great mod for my car and I love it's sound!!! :) No regrets on getting this one.

Install was fairly easy. Instructions could have been a tad more helpful. But if you have any prior experience to doing anything similar to this you really don't even need the instructions. On my car, 13' tC, I can hear a nice deep sound when I get above 4500 rpm. Pulls a smidge better after 5 grand as well. Big debate between these and the Injen. I've heard people's responses with the Injens and with the K&N, and everyone seemed to be going with the K&N. So I followed and now im happy:)

Install was easy and very well explained by the instructions and my intake was shipped very fast. It definitely helped with performance, sound, and gas mileage. I love my cold air intake K&N is the best!
