The K&N 69-8522TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Toyota Celica GTS models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-8522TS air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and EVAP vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, pliers, ratchet set and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Customer Feedback

This was the smart and cost effective way keep my cabin air quality in my 2014 Camry. This took only 1 minute to install since Toyota thought about their location they put it. I will buy another in 100k.The price was right and the quality was superb.

I have been using K & N filters close to 40 years now, on my off road motorcycles to all of my cars and trucks. I value their products and when we bought our new Toyota Highlander earlier this year, the first thing I did was order a new K & N filter for the car. Changing it out from the factory paper filter was a breeze, took all of a couple of minutes. I will never change my practices of using K&N air filters.

The K&N website is very easy to navigate. I have K&N filters in every motor I can. I feel the filters not only enhance the performance; the filters are also a good environmental product. I am not disposing of used filters. I have a 1998 BMW R1100 RT with over 130,000 miles and a 2004 Toyota Camry with over 230,000 miles that have K&N filters in them. Everytime I buy a different motorcycle or car; a K&N filter is installed if a K&N filter is available. I was glad to see you now offer cabin filters.
