The K&N 69-6010TR Typhoon cold-air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Mazda 3 and Mazda 5 models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon cold-air intake which is designed to pull in relatively cooler air and dramatically reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of denser air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-6010TR cold-air intake consists of a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that mounts inside the driver side wheel well directing cooler outside air through free-flowing aluminum tubing into a short ram induction tube that delivers high volumes of clean, colder air into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tubes have an attractive red powder-coat finish that's made to last. The cold-air intake system accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crankcase vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter comes with a water repellent DryCharger filter wrap to protect the filter from moisture. The air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a Phillips screwdriver and a ratchet set. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Product Reviews      Review part 69-6010TR

Let's start off by saying the item looks and sounds awesome. You can actually feel the boost it gives your car while accelerating. I didn't have a garage or private place to install the intake system, so just finished all the installation on the streets of New York, with-in 2 hours. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to add performance parts to there car.

I was very happy with my order. Came right on time and I put it together very fast.

Absolutely amazing product. As soon as I put my Cold Air Intake on my Mazda 3, my engine started growling and sounding much more aggressive. The stock air box I pulled out was massive and incredibly restrictive, so putting on the CAI was a massive improvement. I noticed a lot more Zoom Zoom!
