The K&N 69-4510TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-4510TS air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory air temperature sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, pliers and a ratchet set. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Customer Feedback

Just finished installing K&N's typhoon series air intake system on my 02' Chevy Cavalier LS Sport. And all I can say is awesome! The sound the engine makes as you push on the gas panel and the quick response that you get from having it on your engine is great. 5.89 horse's doesn't sound like much but you can feel the difference in power. Highly recommend buying a K&N air intake for your ride. Its worth it.

Just installed the short ram intake on my 03 Chevrolet Cavalier and I'll admit I was skeptical about the performance upgrade I would recieve from this part.  After driving it, I was amazed with the throttle response and sound that the new intake gave my car.  I would recommend to anyone, young or old, that wants more out of their Cavalier to install (very easy installation) this intake on their ride.  Thanks to k and n for making another great product and letting me enjoy driving much much more!!

I put a K&N Filter on every vehicle as soon as I purchase it. I have a 2000 Ford Mustang, 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire that all showed noticeable increases in horsepower and gas mileage especially with the Mustang. I purchased a 2004 Ford Explorer just two weeks ago that had a noticeable throttle response problem. The installation of the K&N showed a noticeable improvement in the throttle response. I have used the K&N cleaning kit for years now and have never had any problems with oil build up, ever. It is very easy to clean the filters and if needed the instructions are extremely easy to follow. I would and have recommended the use of this filter to everyone I know in every vehicle they have. Dare I admit that I have actually given a few as gifts. A friend questioned me about the K&N filter days before driving from Boston to Kansas City. My response was get one and if you do not like it I will pay for it and buy you a new air filter. He estimated that the filter paid for it self and then some on just one 3500 mile round trip. When he returned he thanked me for the advice. It's the most inexpensive dollar per horsepower product I have ever installed on any vehicle.
