The K&N 69-3533TTK Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Ford Fusion models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-3533TTK air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive textured black powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor, EVAP vent line and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Good product. The deep sound is not as good as it was on my cobalt but I have an increase in gas by 3 more miles to the gal.so that's really the one good thing I can say about this product. Wish the sound was a little louder.

Very easy to install, got it done in around an hour. Although this replaces some stock parts, NONE OF YOUR STOCK FACTORY PARTS NEED TO BE CUT OR MODIFIED. This means that if you ever have to take out the CAI, all your stock parts will be in perfect condition and can go right back in. PERFORMANCE: Definitely feel the power at the front wheels in first and second gear (6-speed Automatic with Select Shift). After the first two gears you don't feel the power gain as much, but is still noticeable. Have yet to do my 0-60mph post-CAI but I will update when/if I do. Another positive about this CAI is that you only hear it when you really step on it. You don't hear it under light acceleration or when you are just cruising which is beneficial to me because I am running about 2,200RPM most of my commute to work. Like the other review here (also from Massachusetts), I see a decrease in MPG as of right now. I can usually get 30mpg under babying conditions and 25mpg stepping on it a lot and going hard on it. I have tried to baby it a little and I still can't get above 23.5mpg (according to the on-board computer). I will do my own manual calculations to confirm that I have a loss in MPG. Overall, I really like the CAI. Definitely feel the power increase on the stock 2.5 engine and it has a real throaty beefy sound under medium to hard acceleration. Worth the purchase if you are looking for more power and better sound. If you commute almost 100 miles a day like me....you may want to consider how much the loss in MPG will cost you in extra gas expenditure.

I bought this intake for my 2013 fusion 2.5 with great results. Definitely have more power, and a deeper roar from the engine. Gas milage did go down for me but not much.
