The K&N 69-3531TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-3531TS air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory air temperature sensor. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, ratchet set and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Installed the cold air intake in my 2014 Ford Explorer Sport. Even with the turbo, the response is improved and the sound is awesome!

I have always been a fan of K&N. The install on my 2013 SHO was very simple and quick. You will hear a difference with this new intake. Great add and it looks cool under the hood as well.

This is the fourth K&N intake I have purchased for a new vehicle, as always it was extremely easy to install, took barely over an hour total with minimal tools. It looks 100x better than the stock air box and definitely preforms as stated. Slightly faster throttle response and much nicer/more aggressive sound. I can now hear the turbos spool up and blow off which is really cool along with the motor sounding slightly louder as it should being the Sport model. Haven't noticed an increase in gas mileage yet so we will see about that. Either way, very happy with my purchase and have recommended that everyone I know get one of their own.

I can hear the breath of my 2014 taurus SHO's twin turbos really working. Like an inhale and exhale of a mighty steed. The sound is really, really, really bumped up a notch. All the research I've seen gives you a solid 9+hp @5k so that's a bargain for hp you simply can't pass up, even if it's the only thing you do. My plan is to finish off my performance with (name brand) as (name brand) sadly discontinued for the SHO.. as i ramble on. ..anyways, The throttle response is just as advertised and I love the look of it when i pop the hood. Let's face it, looking cool is half the battle. GI Joe I am a real person, I highly recommend this product as a moderate DIY'er, it was a piece o cake. Remember, counterclockwise for the air temp sensor, lol, almost broke the thing. Cheers mates, and K&N

I helped my wife install this in her Explorer. Very easy to follow instructions. Took less than an hour. She has already noticed better fuel mileage. Haven't had the opportunity to try out the power.
