The K&N 69-1009TP Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Acura RSX Type-S and Honda Civic SI or VI models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-1009TP air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive chrome-like finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory idle air bypass control thermal valve vent hose, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

K&N 69-1009TP Air Intake Product Reviews

Tuesday, May 24, 2016 - Part 69-1009TP
Very satisfied with increased performance. Performance is as advertised. Installation directions with pictures were very helpful. The only negative was I found the supplied crank case vent hose (your part No.08692) to be too long causing it to kink. It was necessary to shorten the length so it didn't kink and provided maximum airflow. Had it not been for this small issue I would have given your product experience 5 stars rather than 4.

It has been everything that was advertised. I have noticed better high-end performance and my gas mileage is getting better.

My stock intake flex hose split so I decided to use this as a replacement/repair and upgrade at the same time.  Took me less than 30 minutes total time (removal of old intake to starting engine again) with an 8mm, 10mm socket, flat head screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
Wow am I impressed!  5th and 6th gear 50 to 70mph acceleration was much smoother with a noticeable power gain.  0-60 time is amazing and they only claim a 10.5 hp increase.  When V-Tech kicks in this thing sounds amazing!!!! and high RPM power is MOST DEFINITELY increased!!  Low RPM and normal driving do not seem to be any louder so the comfort level is not decreased and I can keep my quiet commuter at the same time!

Had I known what a difference it would have made I would have done it brand new!  My car has 215,000 miles on an otherwise stock never rebuilt engine and it just came back to life!
