The K&N 69-0015TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Acura RSX and Honda CR-V models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-0015TS air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory IA bypass control thermal valve, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, pliers and ratchet set. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

Customer Feedback

I've used K&N air filters in my last four automobiles, (a 2002 Honda Accord, 1999 Ford Explore, 2011 Highlander and 2014 CR-V,) plus two for my son's automobiles. Although I can't quantify their performance accurately, I think they improve both performance and mileage slightly. This is important to me because I now own two four cylinder cars and want all the horsepower I can get.

I own a Honda Cr-v and it was stock, lacking that extra power that an 18 year old young man like myself wants in his ride. Baseline for my SUV, considering it only has a 2.0 litre 4 cyl. was probably about 120hp. After I dropped in a k&n panel filter I saw a decent gain in power, acceleration and smoothness. That was all fine and dandy but when I took it one step higher and put in a new metal intake system and toped it off with a K&N cone filter I saw a power increase of nearly 20hp. a LARGE increase in acceleration, and not to mention my little 4X4 Honda 4 cyl. sounds like a Z71 chevy V8. I cleaned the throttle body out, and that completes my intake modification. I would recommend K&N to anybody who cares about their ride. Thank you K&N, you rock.

I just installed the Typhoon intake system on my '06 Acura RSX Type-S today; taking off the stock airbox was more work than installing the Typhoon!

The performance increase was noticeable right away, even with normal acceleration; it was more responsive even at low RPM's (under 3k) and really comes alive at 6k and above.  Yes, there's more noise when accelerating hard but the extra boost in horsepower is also there; getting from 0-60 took noticeably less time and the extra boost at 6k and above feels like a rocket gets ignited behind the car.  My only complaint has nothing to do with the K&N system - I wish the car had another 2k of RPM before hitting redline so I could really let this thing wind-up!

Highly recommended system; my guess is that when driving under normal conditions the added, less-constricted airflow will probably add a bit to gas mileage, and with prices near $4.00 a gallon every little bit helps.

Thanks, K&N.
