The K&N AirCharger 63-1529 air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Dodge Ram models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your Dodge Ram’s engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 63-1529 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the removed air box area. This allows cooler, denser air to be directed through a custom molded intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The oversized air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install using commonly available tools. This air intake cannot be sold in California. It is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards.

I really cant say for sure that it has helped on my milage or energy, but I will say im very please with the product.

Installation was a bit longer than expected but was easy to do. I ended up adding insulation to the metal box around the filter to help cut down on the extra noise (does not effect performance). The truck performs much better, use to have a slight delay when going into passing gear but now takes off instantly. I am getting about 2 miles per gallon better. Have not pulled anything with it yet but I do expect good results.

Good product. I would buy again.

My K&N filter installed in about 45 minutes, fuel mileage increased from 16.5 mpg to 19.1 hwy. Power increase you can feel, I pull a trailer loaded with 50hp John Deere tractor and mower on it. It pulled with no problem. K&N added enough power increase, well pleased. Do have to tell you this, it will be a little louder, but good sound.

Got it (63-1529) yesterday for my 2009 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 flex fuel engine. Easy 30 minute install. Noticeable power gains immediately, haven't had it long enough to tell about mileage gains, although in the short time its been on my average mileage does seem to be more by about 2 mpg. It is very loud at full throttle acceleration, moderately loud at half throttle, unnoticeable on normal takeoffs.
