The K&N 57-2553 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Ford Crown Victoria models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-2553 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, pliers, a ratchet set and several wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Dear K&N:

I installed the Fuel Injection Performance Kit (K&N #57-2553) on my 2003 Ford Crown Vic.

Boy does it sound MEAN!  It'd be worth it just for the sound alone, but the improvement in the throttle response of the engine was what I was really looking for and it did not disappoint.  The engine's performance now seems so "effortless" it isn't even funny.

I am not sure about any gas mileage improvement as yet because I haven't measured it, but it's probably there because with the increased performance there's less need to be sticking my foot into it all the time.

One unexpected improvement was that the kit seems also to have improved the car's handling.  Don't ask me sounds odd, I know, but perhaps with a rear wheel drive car like the Crown Vic it just gives you some added control.  Even my brother said he thought so, too.

Thanks a lot for a great product!

You guys should make mufflers.

K&N FIPK on a 2004 Crown Victoria Sport

Gentlemen: I installed a FIPK system on my 2004 Crown Vic LX Sport this AM.  I purchased this automobile new in May of 2004.  The stock dual mufflers were changed to 10" glasspacks the day of purchase.  This car now has 34,000 miles on it & runs much better than any of my previous Crown Vics (1993 & 1999).  I immediately noticed & felt a vast improvement in the acceleration of this car when the FIPK system was installed.  The car shows an improvement in acceleration while in OD at 70 + mph.  The system cannot be heard at normal driving speeds but when "putting your foot in it" the increased intake can be heard with the sound of the duals.  The owner of the Ford dealership, after driving my car, ordered a system for his Lincoln Town car.

Subject: Performance Truth

Dear K&N,
This past month I purchased a replacement filter for my wife's 2003 Ford Escape and what a difference it made, power you can feel. The Escape now to me has better throttle response. On another note my 2000 Mustang GT was also greatly helped by the FIPK 57-2519-3 P/N. It too had better throttle response over the K&N filter replacement. When the replacement filter was dropped in the canister the car did better than the stock filter, but then I installed the FIPK and WOW!!! what a difference. The other positive was the detailed instruction that had picture after picture that showed every detail. My father and I installed the FIPK in about 90 minutes not rushing. I have purchased many things but not with instructions this simple. Thanks K&N.

PS My father was so impressed with the drop in filter in my wife's Escape that he had me go order a K&N replacement filter for his 1991 GMC. Another positive, my assigned POLICE car, a 1997 Crown Victoria, has a K&N drop in filter that I purchased on my own, it too made a difference.

Thanks again for your time and engineering. Job well done.
