The K&N 57-2553 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Ford Crown Victoria models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-2553 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a screwdriver, pliers, a ratchet set and several wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Before and After Dyno NOT performed on my 03 Crown Vic LX Sport. INSTALLATION: By Mechanic went perfectly, GREAT instructions, ACCURATE estimated install time. 100 AMERICAN made quality product. THROTTLE RESPONSE: Improved off the line, and passing, even when not Wide Open Throttle. INDUCTION SOUND:Beautiful V8 Music, that I never heard before Quiet at Idle, quiet at Cruise - BUT authoritative, smooth ROAR when you stand on it. MPG: Have not carefully measured yet,but appears better in town. ONLY REGRET: Waited too long to make this simple upgrade.

I was very impressed overall with ordering from K&N. My order shipped same day and arrived when it was supposed to. The cold air intake system I ordered for my 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor fit very good and the installation was simple. The instructions provided are excellent with step by step instructions with pictures of a Crown Vic engine bay. The increased performance can be felt along with increased throttle response. The sound of the air intake working under hard acceleration is a bonus You can really hear the air being drawn in and it sounds good
