Instructions clear and good. But the nipple that screws into the air intake would not fit, called your help line they sent replacement part. No luck same fitting. Seems that air intake tube was manufactured with incorrect thread. $25.00 and a new thread chaser ( 1 time use ) problem fixed. Might be a good idea to check remaining stock. I realize that there are not many 2004 Ford Lightnings left to equip. Performance benifited. Gas mileage I don't know. When you mash the skinny peddle to much it doesnt help. Truck is one of the last one hundred made and I am trying to wear it out odometer shows 8500 mi. Overall I am quite happy with your products I also have your intakes on My 04 Expedition and 04 F250 6.0.

I bought my first K&N air filter in January 2011 after reading all the positive reviews and am another happy customer! I have a 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer model with 5.4L V8 engine purchased new in October 2008. I keep gas mileage records and averaged 12.8 mpg per my calculations with mostly city driving through December 2010, while the vehicle information system reported just over 13 mpg. Since I installed the K&N filter in January with about 22,000 miles on the Expedition, I've averaged 13.5 mpg with no other work done to the vehicle. The vehicle information system reports the mpg is over 14 since I reset it right after the filter installation. Installation was simple and a perfect fit. While I was happy with the quality permanent filter, the improved gas mileage was a nice and unexpected benefit. Thanks K&N!

I really like the performance that I get with the K&N Filters.
They are really long-lasting with a minimum of maintenance.
Of my two most recent filters they are both over 5 years old.
My two vehicles are a 1994 Pontiac Firehawk, and a 1998 Ford Expedition.
The performance that I received from just installing the filter in the Expedition was great. It made the SUV actually drivable in that there was pronounced lag upon acceleration before the K&N Filter which is now gone. That filter was first installed on Oct. 20 2004, and the filter is 5 years old as of this date.
My Firehawk received its filter in 2002 and is still in use today.
