The K&N 57-2536 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Ford Explorer models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-2536 air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points requiring commonly available tools to do the job. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

The K&N cold air intake kit is great on my 2005 Ford Explorer. I ordered the kit about 2 years ago. I pull a heavy trailer. The explorer is barely big enough to pull it. Installing this kit is a BIG help in letting the engine breathe. It sounds great and makes me feel better too, putting this load on my car. The installation was straight forward and the instructions were excellent. The installation was no problem. Only 2 minor issues. The airflow sensor mounting pad had a casting lap that deformed the mounting surface. I was able to smooth it out with a sharp knife and light sanding. The other issue was that I mounted the filter such that it was riding hard on the bottom of the intake box. This was my fault. I didn't find out until I took the filter off to clean and re-oil it and found a very small worn spot on the filter. When I install this new filter I will make sure that the filter is free from interference all around. Thanks for a great product I'll be using K&N from here on out.

Simply the BEST on the market. I have used them in all of my vehicles. They are easy to install and you will immediately notice a boost in power and a small improvement in the gas mileage. Easy to clean and very durable. Spend the extra money and try one in your car or truck. You will save that money the first year in gasoline. I have them in my 2014 Mustang V6 Coupe and my 2013 Ford Explorer XLT V6.
