The K&N 57-2531 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Ford 250 and 350 models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your Ford’s engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-2531 air intake comes with a K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the lower air cleaner assembly. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The new air intake system accommodates the factory air temperature sensor and the air filter restriction gage. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using the existing factory mounting points. The only tools needed are a screwdriver, ratchet set and several wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

I love my new K&N performance intake kit. I feel like my truck is running smoother now. It's also a lil bit louder, but no biggie to me. I like my vehicles loud. Having no problems with it at all.

Easy to install, Instructions were great. The only issue I had that made me give it a 4 star was that the hardware provided was not all there in my kit. Missing several nuts. I could tell a slightly better engine performance and little better mileage. It does make the already noisy diesel noisier.

I did the installation myself and it was really easy. Took about 45 min from opening the box. The directions for putting the heat shield together was a bit confusing but you have to read carefully. The intake itself made my truck a little deeper sounding and the throttle response increased greatly. I can actually hear my turbo clearly now!:)

The only negative is that it makes an already loud truck a bit louder. The instructions are quite good, but the photography is average at best. I am glad I didn't throw anything away from the old intake housing, because quite a bit of it was reinstalled. Truth be told, you saved my life, because no factory intake housings were available for love nor money.  Yes, I destroyed the previous one with starting fluid. My old F-250 Power Stroke should make it to 300,000 miles soon. Thanks.
