The K&N 57-2502 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air box in some older Ford Mustang V8 models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction and improve air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-2502 air intake comes with an elongated chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter that installs onto the factory mass air sensor within the previous air box space. Air is directed through the air filter into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The oversized air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points requiring commonly available tools to do the job. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

I have used K&N filters for the last 20 years. 1) 1992 318 Dodge Dakota pickup truck 2) 1999 Plymouth Prowler and the 3rd a 2014 Ford Mustang convertible. Great filter.

I have never used K&N before but had always heard good reports about the products. I just installed an oil filter on my Ford Tractor. The K&N filter was smaller and heavier than the one I replaced. The K&N just feels better made. I also like the nut on the end of the filter. The nut sure came in handy in the close tolerance area of my tractor. I will buy this product again and will also look at other products for my classic 1972 Mustang!

After doing hours of research on CAI systems I decided to purchase the 69 series Typhoon CAI for my 2012 Mustang, V6, 3.7L. The product receives great review on the internet and through Youtube, I purchased through another online site ad received a slightly better deal than ordering it directly from K&N. The good and bad about this product is as follows: first off all the parts arrive in the box, and everything seemed in good shape. K&N states this should take about 40 minutes to install, on Youtube they say about 90 minutes, and that is exactly what it took me. I would of finished sooner (and here's the bad), but some of the holes do not line up and require some effort to make it work. I used a small rat tail file to expand the hole. What I'm talking about is the housing and the air filter (Doughnut) adapter - the holes (one hole) is off by maybe a 16th of an inch. Next the housing did not fit flush inside my car, every time I pushed it into place the air intake would pop out of the Ford air intake (The piece that goes into the front for air intake). After tinkering for some time I finally got the part to an Acceptable place and bolted it in place. All other parts fit as advertised. Just so every one knows I am not a mechanic and have very little experience working under the hood, but I'm above average when it comes to putting things together.
