This filter installed very easy on my 2001 dodge 1500 quad cab truck with a 360 magnum. I noticed the power difference right away and my gas mileage also improved. Would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone.

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 has the 5.9 litre V8 and I average 15.5 mpg. I have a factory cold air intake so I bought the K&N drop in air filter for it. After installing it I went on a short drive around town. I drove around 70 miles and my gas gauge needle never moved, showing me I for sure made a good investment by getting my K&N filter. My truck has 136,000 miles on it There are no oil leaks, it doesn't use oil and it is still a beast with 350 foot pounds of stump pulling power.

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended cab 4x4 with a 360ci/5.9 liter V8 automatic. As others have stated, I was also hesitant to buy a K&N because of the $50 price tag and being slightly skeptic of the claims, but I had money to burn that week so I decided to buy it. At first I was very convinced I had wasted my money but none the less I had fun unboxing the filter and installing it along with slapping the K&N sticker on my air cleaner. Then after a week the computer adjusted to it and over the course of a month of driving my truck I had noticed gas mileage being very very good on the highway & city, especially for a truck that'd usually nail down a constant 16-17mpg in stock form.

Recently I borrowed my truck to my parents and they reported an average of 21mpg on a 1000 mile round trip to pick up an engine! A 4mpg increase on a 360 Dodge truck weighing 6450 lbs loaded down with cargo & passengers none the less over my stock baseline!. I don't know anyone with a stock filter getting anywhere near this mpg with a Dodge!. I believe it has helped my mpg out a lot!.

As for the power aspect of things, I didn't think much of it, until I had driven other 360 Dodges I had worked on doing tune ups and wondering why they never seemed as fast as mine. The K&N is what I think is delivering that very noticeable difference. Future buyers beware: it may take about 100 miles for the computer to adjust to the new flow of this filter for your butt dyno & pocket book to get the most out of it.

All things considered, the fact it made any difference at all was a plus in a world of products that don't deliver, but the fact I gained 4mpg and a little more snap to my truck that I can feel is a great thing!. I would highly recommend K&N to anyone looking to get the most out of their vehicle!.
