Woohoooo!!!!! I just installed a K&N Short Ram Typhoon Kit model# 69-8601 on my 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS and Wow! The installation instructions were great, the color looks awesome inside the engine compartment, very clean looking and the system seats very sturdy using original mounts in the car.
Here is the best part!!!! I have to say that the engine picked up about 14 more horse power. The sound produced by the engine now is so awesome, and the acceleration got so much better. Every time I get a chance now, I accelerate the vehicle almost to red-line just to hear and feel the difference. Too soon to say anything about gas consumption and mileage, but I have to assume it will just get better, after my need for speed goes away, je, je....!!!!!!
Hats Off for K&N!!!!

I noticed an increase in mpg and performance. Drove to Niagara Falls from Detroit Metro area with 13.3 gal of gas;Logged overall 489 miles and got 36.7 mpg! 07 Buick CXL Lurcern 3.8 before K & N filter was 28 mpg ( based on 2007 mpg estimates not the new 2008). Increase of 8 mpg! I know that each situation is different but for me this filter works BIG time! Again, car has more acceleration now than before. I like the sound of all that air rushing into my engine.

I purchased the Typhoon kit for my 03 Toaster (Honda Element) and it is amazing. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response and power. I also love the sound that it produces. One of the best products I have ever bought for my car. Highly recommend.

K&N products are installed on all of our vehicles, both commercial & personal, as well as every engine that leaves our shop. They produce great filters but I sugguest you try some of their other products. One of my favorites is the cold air induction kits. The simplicity of the installation is key but the additional horsepower it gives the motors is incredible. I would know as I live at 6,200' in elevation where the lack of oxygen really shows in acceleration.
My hat's off to the K&N company's team of employees. I have met several of them & have yet to find one that is rough around the edges. They love their jobs and it shows. Each one has great knowledge in their industry & all have been a pleasure to work with. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with K&N. I think that they all deserve a pat on the back & possibly a raise!!! And with that being said, 'Good luck with that'....

Recently installed a replacement factory air filter for my 2003 Toyota Tacoma TRD 6 cyl. I was getting about 15 mpg local driving, and around 18-19 mpg highway driving. I am amazed on the instant power difference I noticed. Now after about a month installed, my mpg is 16-17 local driving and about 22 mpg highway. Though it is rather expensive, the proof is there. I can't believe a replacement filter, two minitues to install could improve performance like that. Keep on making these great filters. :)

I just purchased and install cold air intake P/N69-2521TP. The look and design is beautiful. I purchased this design because you can use it as a short ram intake or the full cold air intake. Just today that choice saved me. We had just gotten into a nasty thunderstorm and had to stop at a gas station because I had it on as a full cold version. In less than 5 minutes I was able to put it to the short ram and was back on the road. I would recommend this intake to any SRT 4 owner over any other. For the looks, power, sound , and the option of running full cold air or short ram. You will not find another intake that can offer what this intake can do. Thanks K&N for a superior product and I will definitely a life long buyer.

I have used the K&N air and oil filters for several years now with excellent success. My 04 Deville Cadillac was lacking something when pushing the pedal. I threw in a K&N air filter and not only does it breathe much better, the computer picked up on this and it even shifts at a more responsive point. Also I should add that I threw in the highly recommended Torque Master spark plugs to complement the air filter and that was another solid gain - money well spent!

First of all I have to say I'm impressed. I have an 04' F150 Lariat...but with 35 BFG Mud Terrains and 18 rims. I was getting 11.9 mpg and was slow as molasses. I dropped in my K&N and at my best getting 13.5 mpg. What a huge difference for a truck like mine! I can totally tell a difference in accelleration as well. I am completely impressed and it's the best $48 I've spent.

I put the drop in air filter in my 03 chevy impala LS. With the duals and the filter, that sucker ran more like a V8 than the 3.8L V6 it was. I now have an 07 MONTE CARLO SS and cant wait to do the same. And oh yeah, I put one in my 84 monte carlo too! I've been onboard since 06! CHEERS!

I'm not big on feedback, but I have to tell you, I've had two Chevy's with drop in filters, due to no more paper replacements and just better airflow. Now I own a 02 Silverado 2500, 6.0L with some aftermarket goodies stuffed under the hood and of course a K&N filter, but the Gen2 cold air (intake). Believe me, there's just so much better performance, noticed power gain, better fuel MPG and when you lay into the throttle the sound is music to the ears. Thanks for a great product (keep improving the products, I'm loyal like that!)

I have an 08 F150 and I previously only had the K&N drop in filter with flowmasters. Since gas is so high right now, and I'm driving to Texas in a week, I decided to go with the cold air intake. I have to say I didn't expect much gain from this, since I was already using the drop in filter. When I installed it I was amazed at the results I got and the difference it made. The throttle response has improved by a lot. I get about 2 more mpg's. By far I would recommend this product to anyone.

I installed your filters in all 4 of my cars. The Toyota Camry not only runs smoother but the mileage per gallon is noticeable by at least 3-4 miles better per gallon. Our mini-van runs better as well and it seems like we can drive an extra day before we have to fill in it up. Thanks for producing such a fine product.

I used to own a 1999 Dodge Durango. 2 1/2 years ago I purchased a 2000 Toyota 4Runner. When I owned the Durango I would get about 250/tank. The tank was 25/gal. My 4Runner is only 16/gal and I was getting roughly the same gas mileage. I purchased one of K & N's filters at the end of June 2008, and I am now averaging 325/tank. I have to say I am highly impressed with this purchase, instead of filling my gas tank every week, I now fill up every other week. Thank You K & N for this wonderful product.

I originally installed a K&N replacement filter in my '97 3.8L Camaro for improved performance, which it did accomplish, however I also saw near 2MPG increase. Before I could count on getting 370 miles per tank on all highway driving, at legal speeds, using cruise control. I can now get 400 miles per tank for the same driving conditions. I am getting right at 29 MPG highway. Gotta love it.

My wife bought a 2002 Mazda Protege5 new . It has had a noticable pause in power between shifts ever since new , now has 27000 mi. Took back to dealer three times for this with no improvement. Their explanation was the computer did this to soften shifts (130 HP. Ha-Ha). Our son recommended the drop in K&N, he has one in a 07 Maxima. I put one in the Mazda and immediately noticed the hesitation was completely gone plus the acceleration is greatly improved, she now gets about 415 mi. to a tank, before she was averaging 380. Did not tell my wife what I had done so I could see if she noticed, she did. The first time she used her car she called me excited and said her car had stopped stumbling, then I told her what I did. Thanks K&N.

I recently bought a universal air filter for my '95 SAAB 9000cs. And I was instantly impressed! I had to do a few small intake adjustments to get the huge thing to fit. but, I never had a warranty on the car anyway. I have around a 20bhp difference! It's outstanding! You can really tell it's a turbo now! And my Blow off valve blasts louder than any I've ever heard!
Thanks for making such an outstanding product!

I recently purchased the 77 series air intake for my 05 F150 and I will admit, I was skeptical, but after a 900 mile road trip the next day, I clocked my mileage and it really does everything you hear about or read about. I get about 160 miles more on a full tank of gas on the highway which means a lot these days with a 30 gallon tank. Installation took about 45 minutes with minimal tools, I recommend one of these to anyone that wants to save money at the gas station.

I own a Honda Cr-v and it was stock, lacking that extra power that an 18 year old young man like myself wants in his ride. Baseline for my SUV, considering it only has a 2.0 litre 4 cyl. was probably about 120hp. After I dropped in a k&n panel filter I saw a decent gain in power, acceleration and smoothness. That was all fine and dandy but when I took it one step higher and put in a new metal intake system and toped it off with a K&N cone filter I saw a power increase of nearly 20hp. a LARGE increase in acceleration, and not to mention my little 4X4 Honda 4 cyl. sounds like a Z71 chevy V8. I cleaned the throttle body out, and that completes my intake modification. I would recommend K&N to anybody who cares about their ride. Thank you K&N, you rock.

I have a 1990 Cadillac Seville 4.5L (273 cu.in.) V-8. I was getting 16/17
m.p.g.in town. Now with the K&N I am getting 21/22 m.p.g. in town and
city. And I am getting over 30 m.p.g.on the freeway. I also can feel much more power when I need to pass. I am now planning to get a K&N cold air intake for my 1988 Mustang GT convertible. I am sure to get much
better gas milage. Also more passing power. The K&N air filter has got to be the best air cleaner of all time. Like you at K&N say it is the world's best air filter.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with a 4.0 litre engine. I have performed 2 simple cheap modifications that turned out to make a large difference in fuel economy.
At my last air filter change, Instead of the $8 paper filter, I installed a K&N replacement. Cost $51 (plus $20 per for a cleaning kit.) The K&N filter is a 1,000,000 mile filter that needs 50,000 mile cleanings. (may need more cleanings in dusty conditions) Fuel economy improvement 10%.
At my last oil change I switched to synthetic oil. I had been using Walmart's store brand Tech 2000 5W30 petroleum oil. This time I used the same Walmart store brand Tech 2000 5W30, but I bought the synthetic oil. Cost per oil change, an additional $14. Fuel economy improvement 20%.
I am now averaging 20.5 MPG with a mix of city and highway driving.

These filters kick butt. I put an air filter (not CAI, just the drop-in type) in our Mazda MPV (a van) and it actually has the Zoom-Zoom that silly Mazda tagline promoted! Nice boost of HP!
Since that one did so well, I decided to put one in my Acura RL. The car already had power, but it seemed to lack the smooth acceleration from low-end to high-end I expected when it got broken in. I removed the filter, dropped the K&N filter in, and it now has the smooth power I had expected. Not a big HP jump, but the smoothness is much improved.
Car manufacturers should use them!

I knew K&N from racing. I have a 1995 Dodge full size passenger van, 360ci, 355 rear end. It now has 195,000 miles on it. From the beginning, after the paper filter had been in it a short time I noticed it would ping under certain load conditions in the hot Oklahoma and Texas summers. It appeared clean. I'd put a new paper one in and the ping would be gone for a few thousand miles. I finally installed a K&N at 40,000 mi. 155,000 miles later, never had another ping. Yes, I have cleaned it a few times. I now have a K&N in my '05 Chrysler Minivan, '88 Lincoln, the above, '73 Corvette, and '72 Monte Carlo. Soon my new motorcycle will have one.

I'm more and more impressed with the air filter every day and I absolutely love it. Being a member of the military I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and my truck, a 1997 Chevy Tahoe 4dr 5.7L, goes with me wherever I go. My passion is off roading and generally driving anywhere there isn't an ounce of pavement and my K & N has never missed a beat in performance or reliability and has payed for itself within months. The filter in the car (when I bought it) was brand new. I felt that the engine was a little slow on response when I pressed on the gas pedal, even when it was already revving. I thought that this was normal as I hadn't had the car for very long. With the K&N filter and without a doubt, the engine revs up much more freely. It's amazing how getting more air into the engine literally breathes new life into it! An of course, there is that little improvement in the sound of the engine as well. Thanks to K & N for saving the life of my carrrrrrrrrrr
Again, I'm not sure (yet) about any mileage increase, but will write back and repost after a few tanks have been used. So far, very impressed! The Zoom-Zoom is back!
I will do more advertisment on your product.

We have an '82 Chevy Cavalier 4WD with an 1800cc, pushrod, 4 cylinder, 4 speed stick, totally stock with a duel jet 2 barrel carburetor. It has no computers, it weighs 2000 lbs. This is the most remarkable car that I have ever owned. It had a stock air filter in it & I averaged 45-48 mpg, but June 30th, I put in your K&N air filter & on a trip I got 51-53 mpg. From here, Logan, New Mexico is nearly 300 miles; it took 5.585 gallons to go the distance that is 51.282051 mpg. I'd say that your K&N is not only great on performance but also on economy, perhaps you can share this with your people as another way to save $ at the pump.

Wow, it has been only a few days since I got my drop in filter for my Grand Am GT, but I see a big difference in acceleration. This was noticeable almost right away. When I really hit the gas it is incredible, and the car has a little bit more of a growl when I do this. At just about any speed it seems to go with much more ease than with my regular throw away filter. I will never buy anything else than K&N products. I am telling all my friends and anybody I can about these filters. No matter what type of car, van, truck you drive, you will see a change in performance. Thank you , I LOVE this product!!!

I never believed these testimonials. Thought they were sales pitch. I was desperate to save money on gas so I went ahead and replaced my paper filter with a k&n in my 2000 4runner. I was absolutely surprised by the gain in mileage on a tank of gas. I could literally hear my engine sucking fresh air as if there was no filter. I was pulling 160 to 180 miles on my usual habits. Now I am pulling 200 to 230 miles before heading for the pump. My exhaust was beefier and I found I didn't need to floor the gas pedal to pass. My horsepower was kicked into gear. Believe me, this is the least expensive way to release the horses under the hood. Best thing is I dont need to service the filter for 50000 miles.

I love k&n air filters. I have put them on all my quads and they have a lot more power than stock filters. I have put them on my 56 Buick and a Chevy Duramaxx Diesel. You can feel more power as soon as you put it on. I would and do reccomend k&n air filters for everything that they make them for. I would put one on my lawnmower if they made them.
